Dear Lincoln Lions!
I am so excited to be joining the Lincoln Fundamental Elementary School community this school year. I am a product of our wonderful district having attended Kindergarten-12th grade in CNUSD schools and I have been a teacher and administrator in the district for over 20 years. Most recently, I come from Harada Elementary School where I served as the assistant principal and principal for a combined total of 9 years. I am looking forward to bringing all that I have learned over the course of my career to Lincoln!
While the ups and downs of the Covid-19 pandemic have impacted our school in a variety of ways, I am most excited to see the return of parent volunteers on campus as well as some of the most treasured events sponsored by our PTA. If you too are excited to bring back 100 Mile Club, Dances, Breakfast with Santa, Book Fairs, etc. you can show your support by joining PTA or volunteering to be on one of PTA’s remaining committees.
This year Lincoln will also be refocusing our efforts on our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). All of our Lions will learn how to ROAR (Respect, Organization, Achievement, Responsibility) across all areas of campus. Collectively, we will be using PBIS Rewards to positively reinforce our Lions for practicing these behavioral expectations. Personally, I cannot wait for our students to see some of the new events and experiences we have in store for them as they look for opportunities to redeem their hard earned points!
Academic achievement continues to be a high priority for our school site and we know some of our Lions still have gaps left behind as a result of the school closures. Grade level teams will be working together to provide targeted interventions to our students that need them the most. I am also pleased to share that Lincoln has added a part-time Intervention Teacher on Special Assignment to support with this work as well.
Families, I am thrilled to get the 2022-2023 school year started and to get to know each of you on a more personal level!
Sincerely,
Dr. Erica Jenson
