Dear Lincoln Families,

Welcome to Lincoln Elementary School! We are proud to be a school community where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing the skills and dispositions they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

At Lincoln, we are continuing an exciting journey as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) school. Our commitment to the PYP shapes the way we approach teaching and learning, with an emphasis on inquiry, conceptual understanding, critical thinking, collaboration, and developing students who are knowledgeable, caring, principled, and globally minded. We are excited to continue deepening this work and finding meaningful ways to make the IB Learner Profile and approaches to learning part of everyday experiences for our students.

We are also excited to bring our brand-new science curriculum to our classrooms. Through hands-on experiences, inquiry, investigation, and real-world connections, students will have opportunities to explore the world around them and develop their skills as scientists, problem-solvers, and thinkers. We look forward to seeing how this new curriculum complements and strengthens our transdisciplinary approach to learning through the IB PYP.

Another important area of focus is our continued commitment to the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process. Our teachers are embracing the power of collaboration as they work together to identify essential learning, examine student data, share effective instructional practices, and determine how best to respond when students need additional support or enrichment. Through this collaborative process, we are strengthening our ability to meet the needs of every learner and ensure that all students have the opportunity to experience success.

None of this work happens in isolation. Our dedicated teachers and staff continually seek opportunities to learn, reflect, and grow as professionals so they can provide engaging, meaningful learning experiences for every student. Just as we ask our students to be lifelong learners, we believe in modeling that same commitment as educators.
